I just re-read your NOSE post Ryry - how'd recovery go? The lady at the sleep center is sending me to some specialist soon but she brought up Tonsils and other bullshit, so I'm kina freaked that I might have to go thru what you went thru. But noticing how little air gets thru my nose when im NOT on the mask, I bet there's some shit wrong with me. Who's your medical coverage, by the way?
I finally got the CPAP machine last night (only for the 1 night to get readings) and it was weird as hell, but it worked. It literally covered by face and nose and just pumped air into me. My sleep study results were so jacked up tho, that the dr is referring me to a nose/throat/somethingelse specialist to see what the obstruction is. I wonder if that's what Jael and Ry Ry went thru before getting the option for surgery...

When I was younger than 14, I used to have a terrible time peeing in public urinals, especially if theres a line queing up in public places like the movie theatre or something. Even if I had the urge of a full bladder that was about to burst. Just terrible performance issues. I couldn't stand to pee if I knew someone was watching, even though most people weren't. I think it was just the thought. I lost my pee virginity after high school i think. Maybe it was the same time that I got laid alot (oh yeeeah) and was really confident about my pee performances. Now I just spray the urinals wherever which way. ;)
Talking about pee and work, not so much pee actually, I had a really really good set of interviews today. Met the VP, and some of the Sr. dudes in this electronics mfg company. I got a really positive vibe after the interviews, (a lot of when can you start and what's your sal requirements) I hope to hear back, which should be soon. Jobs are great to pay the bills in the meantime when i'm looking for my calling.

Urine Trouble? Urine Luck!
For urinal incidents, just keep in mind the scene from the not-so-classic Jack Nicholson movie Wolf, where he's at the urinal with his corporate enemy, and he pisses all over the dude's shoes then says: "Just markin' my territory."
I've actually had a couple of notable urinal run-ins.
- I pissed next to our CEO, twice. Both times it was awesome because both times I'd drunk an unusual amount of coffee and had to piss SUPER HARD, whereas I felt like he was struggling to get started. It ruled. Fuck you, rich man!
- One time I walked into the can late at night to piss before going home and the VP of my dept was washing his hands. I said "hey" to him in passing and strode to the urinal whereupon I unleashed my man-snake and started peeing. At that point he walked up to me and started a conversation with me. I actually didn't have to go that bad so it took me an awkwardly long time to get started. It was only the first time I'd ever talked to this guy and during the course of this convo I learned he is crazy and makes no sense. Anyway after a painfully long time I eked out enough piss so I could walk away respecting myself and then this weird conversation, which I didn't even understand what he was talking about after the first ten sentences or so, went on and on as he followed me all the way to the parking lot and then we had to chat a weirdly long time at the base of the stairs.

Someone talking to me while I'm pissing is completely inappropriate. I don't know how to act! Do I make eye contact? Ugh, I've held my pee because I've seen dudes going in before me that will 1. pick the fucking middle urinal every time and 2. make small talk while I'm trying to pee.
I need some solo games too, so can't wait to hear your review. Also, I assume Eric has tons of exp playing solo and hope he can provide some nice suggestions.
My latest obsession in the podcast world (and what will probably make up most of my driving-to-tahoe listening selection) is "The Best Show on WFMU with Tom Scharpling". Here's the wiki page and you can find the podcasts of it on itunes: LINK!
It's one of the few things in the world that makes me laugh out loud. It's just a weekly call-in radio show from Jersey, but the host is really funny and there's a regular cast of callers, both real and fake. The podcasts cut out the music he plays (probably licensing stuff) but it's all about his interactions with the callers. Kinda slow paced at first but I highly recommend giving it a shot.
One of the regular real callers is this kid named Milo (sounds around 9 or 10) but on a recent episode (which might be a good start point) the kid is telling them about his D&D game, and it just so ridiculous and funny. If you subscribe, it's the June 15th episode with Paul F Tompkins. Love it!

Sounds like your laptop is hella gayed out Ja-El. Your laptop probably likes to look at weiners alot. Are you sure you didn't download "Steem"?
Every couple years I get obsessed with the idea of chit wargames. Lately I've been really wanting a solo wargame. After some research (reading boardgamegeek at work for three straight hours) I picked up "Field Commander: Alexander the Great." Hopefully it's good, I'll post a session report, especially if I can get Myke to translate it into ancient Greek for me.
Work is interesting. There is definitely the sense as I near my end date that everything is collapsing. The other day a department head, not of my department but one who has to work with ours and has an investment in ours remaining functional, stood next to me at the urinal and whispered, "would you stay in QA if you got a 25% pay raise?" I think this was a serious proposition and that if I wanted to I could move into a manager position at the dept. I have no desire to do that though, I think I'd go crazy very, very quickly.

It's called a CPAP machine which stands for "continuous positive airway pressure" - it pushes purified air/oxygen into you which keeps your airway open and allows you to breath like a normal person. Well, IF your apnea is caused by something like that. I guess it won't help some people and they need different options.

In Summation
I have had probably the stomach flu, or possibly some food poisoning, for the past few days. I was exploding out of both ends for a good 10 hours, then just out of the south end for a few days. Gross weight loss = 8lbs, as of today the net = 4 lbs.
During my glorious weekend, Ryan and Heather came up for a visit! Lucky them! Needless to say I hope the next time I see R Dub my brain and my body are up for some games of Wizard and Tichu and I am no longer assigned a seat on the couch to stare mindlessly at the ceiling between nodding off.
Took Monday and Tuesday off of work, Monday was spent sleeping, and Tuesday was spent with Wylie while he barfed in the morning and slept most of the rest of the day with me. I think he caught his barfs from a kid at his school that he spent the day playing with right before he ALMOST barfed all over Wylie. We definitely had different symptoms - nothing came out of the south end on him, and most of what came out of the north was clear. Coincidence or just lil' kid vs old man versions of the same sickness?
So right now I am eating mostly pb&j samiches, some animal crackers, and gatorade. I think meat is off the menu for me for a while (as is Del Taco, Minestrone Soup, garlic, and hummus for some reason).
I did discover Alien Swarm on Steam and am totally ready for some co-op games! Get it for free, add me to your friends list, and lets get some games going tonight!
