thanks erick- i'll check out the leauge! I swear sports fanatics are bigger geeks and gamers or computer nerds. These "cool guys" at work know WAY TOO MANY facts and names and stats for sports - freakish!

OMG

I highly recommend The Hedge Knight graphic novel. It's fuckin' amazing! I'm about halfway thru it. It's based on a short story he wrote for a collection awhile back. It's set 100 years before the 1st Fire n Ice book and it's simply kick-assington! The art is cool - doesn't blow me away or anything, but its more than adequate. The story though is tits, and its very cool to see a lot of the things from the books visualized (mainly all the different crests and emblems.) There's also a lot of characters in it that are referred to in the books - "historical figures." Oh man, its a good read! And it's not spoilers-stylee - I think he wrote the story before the 3rd book anyways - Gotta catch em all guys!

Sick is Teh Suck

You can still join the pick em league, and if you are interested you can use the sign in for The Placeholders and use them for your team. I think the login is: elric_placeholder and the pw: littlegirl. <-- inside joke with RDub and myself, it's not what you think! So, feel free to play as them! They got the highest draft pick in P. Holmes! The draft is rigged!

Edge is el Hombre!

Mr. James is a fantasy stud RB. In my "other" fantasy league (16 teams) and a live draft, he was my #1 pick. He had a crappy first week point-wise, but he DID rack up like 142 yards which is impressive. Considering that he had three fumbles all of last YEAR, I think we can say having two fumbles in one game is an abberation.

Generally speaking, running backs are the work horses of any fantasy football team. If you dont have two studs and at least one very good-to-stud RB on your team, odds are not good that you'll be doing much of anything.

Comparatively, it's hard to find a QB that will out-produce another QB by such a significant margin as to warrant a top-shelf status. Culpepper is up there, but just baaaarely not quite to Mr. James' status and Culpepper is only really sniffing the upper eschelon because he's got Randy Moss (who is a much better value in fantasy football!)

With so few teams in our league, there's a ton of quality players still hanging out there on the free agent list.
undead... you say?

An all undead team would be better. I can get skeletons, mummies and liches as well as a coach that can revive my guys at half time! With these LIVE jokers, they can't do crap. Owell.

Another few great finds: I have the lowest ranking defense. Yay! 28th and 30th with the most yardage allowed. sigh. I get to play The action team next week, and they look mighty formidable, also the placeholders and Oriental rugs looks good too. I will get a good Ass trouncing next week.

Hmmmm...

Alright, I'm in like Flynn. Took me a while to find out where to sign up for the pick 'em action. Yeehaa.

Johnny look at the bright side, at least you didnt end up with any dead or incarcerated players. Besides we all know that Eric, the NFL genius, rigged the draft by hacking into Yahoo and changing the order of the picks and configuring his drafting bot to pick up the good players we didnt draft.

D>M>
That draft is rigged! I call BS!

The computer draft passed up Dante culpepper as a 3rd round draft pick and gave me D mcallister and E james instead??? I may not be an NFL fan, but looking at their stats, D mcallister is having problems scoring and E james is a old hasbeen. Hasn't done well since 1999 and 2000. Probably replaced by another RB. Seriously, there is a problem with the Yahoo ranking system. That sucks for me. Man, if only I knew anything about football, I'd do the draft.

BTW..

Best,

O-Rugs
The Draft is In!

The Placeholders end up with everyone's favorite star player, P. Holmes! What a waste...

Anyway, the draft is complete, now we all just need to learn WTF with the NFL!

Dante Culpepper (SP?) rules all yo sorry azz QB's, including that cracker ass country boy Manning!

Also, I gets to represent SDSU with Marshall Faulk at RB! Hooray for me!

Hooray Beer!

Now everyone join the PICK EM LEAGUE AND WE WILL BE COOL!

Animated GIF goodness:

These three little animated gif images satisfy all my primal needs. It's like internet heroin, I think.. I could watch these for hours and feel happy!

(LOL)

Best,

~O-ree-ental Rugs.

Edit: Weird. why are the images so chunky and unsmooth on the blog whereas they are smooth elsewhere? Did I not use the correct 1337 programming code to make them work right? =/

Edit #2: Weirdness, take two. Now, everything is a-rockin' nice and smooth like. Dunno! The mysteries of the computer-universe at work.

Baby clothes, baby formula, baby crib...

Those baby monitors. Baby shopping ech.... I don't even like to shop for my own clothes. Mostly still wearing my 80's style t-shirts from GAP and banana republic, you know, with the animal nature pictures. Nonethess, good for you art. I guess step 1 for me is to actually find the right woman to hump... or hump the woman on my right? heh

Jon: I'm free on Freeday and Sun-day. Saturday though, I might be going to a friends house warming party to house warm.

Botswana Beefalogger

Baby due date has been pegged at the 27th since back in.. February I think? But, the doctor says she's gone "head down" since a week or two ago which means that it could, in theory, happen at any given minute. She was scheduled to work through tomorrow and then begin her maternity leave, but I told her last night to screw the last two days and just stay home to relax and take it easy. She's having discomfort some more this morning, but the occurrences are still over 10-15 minutes apart and not getting closer together (yet). So, even if she IS in labor, she's not close enough together to get the vehicle loaded up and head down to the birthing center.

Dunno, man.. dunno.. it is a bit surreal to think I'll be a dad here within a week or so. But, to be honest, I'm really looking forward to it and we've been prepping for this for a long time now. Hell, when she went off the pill, we figured it would probably take at least 4-6 months of humping to get pregnant (what with all the horror stories you hear about people being unable to get preggo even when TRYING to do so).. nope! Took about 1 month. (LOL) Well, at least we know all the plumbing works on both sides of the fence. I guess after all those years of sending the troops charging up that hill, only to be cut down by chemical weapons by the millions.. when the enemy was relieved of their deadly defenses, the boys charged that hill with a vengence!

Hehe..

Late,

~Cap'n O.

I win

Art, you must be all in knots. Damn that is crazy. That's crazy that you are going to have a rug rat real soon. Man. I still feel too young to have kids.

In other news. That nice 2 month swing shift job I had going for the past few days is put on hold for two and a half weeks. Rule. Some of the guys were saying the last "two week" break lasted from Feburary to April. Great. I can't seem to get a break. Oh well, back to the job hunt again.

Elrock, I was able to join one of the leagues, but not the other yesterday. I'll try it again tomarrow morning after I get up.

Suck It Trebek

EDIT: Jon, I will be around Friday. Saturday I am working my last day for 2 1/2 weeks. I start at 8am and I dont know when I will be done. I hope I will be done by mid-eve, but no guarantees. Sunday I will most likely be fee as well. Wee. I wish I could be more specific.

Whew, close call, Art! When's the baby actually due? My poor mom... personally, I was two weeks late and my sister was really late as well. In retrospect, this was an obvious foreshadowing of our tendencies to procrastinate.

Aaron & Johnny: So, I'm definitely driving up there on Friday to check out a couple of apartments. Any chance we could all grab dinner this weekend? Preferably in the city itself? Not that Fremont isn't lovely, but it would be cool to do something in the actual metropolitan area. For one thing, we could buy way trendier shoes and handbags.

Eric--I found the linksys password and the router now forwards the port to my Mac's static IP. I think. Maybe we can try firing up another test server tomorrow?

Note to all: I spent 6 hours of my work day watching "Reba." Fuck.
Back from the hospital..

After hours of being hooked up to the biometric gizmos and whizbangs, they decided that baby isn't coming tonight.. but that if contractions restart to come back tonight.. so does that mean that we might still? Confusing.

Anyway, so I guess that was false start #2.
