Woo Hoo!
I got asked to the dance! I got asked to the dance! Downloading my dress.. er tux will take a while though. Too bad they didn't include a 1/2ling team. Oh Otterface, your day will come. Oh yes.
Me and Eric played some Blood Bowl last night, good times. Like FUMBBL but snazzy looking. I had to learn the controls AND remember the rules, thus ending in a 2-1 loss for my human team vs his human team. The rematch I will be Orcs. Also Eric, keep an eye on your inbox because a lot of people are reporting getting multiple beta invites after already getting in, so maybe if we do we can send some off to our pals, thanks.

ZOMGBB!!!
Let's do it! I'll need to disassemble the podcast booth to get the mic/headset combo back, but we should skype it up and play some BB!
By the way, can you sit still yet and podcast or will you be jonesing too hard for a fag, smoke, grit, cancer stick, etc.?
Text me when you are ready, and make sure you change all your graphic settings in game to the minimum. I had issues when my graphics were high, so I dropped em to lowest of low and had a perfect game after that.

BB
Got the beta invite last night. :) So, Eric, let's get some games in this week! I'll install it tonight and see if it even runs on my POS computer.
Also there's some free DLC for Left4Dead that came out yesterday. A new mode called Survival (sounds like Horde mode from Gears 2 -so just waves of zomboids, last as long as you can?) and then they turned the remaining 2 maps into versus versions. Don't know what else, but whoever's down for that this week, oh yeah.

Sweet, glad it sounds like Blood Browl is pretty good. I don't know what platforms I'd go for (DS because they cost me NOTHING AHAHAHAHAH) but either PC or XBLA. Probably PC because now that I have no car payments I'm itching to build a new rig, yay! :)
You guys ever heard of this table top game, Brikwars: LINK2RULES ? Sounds interesting I suppose. Also sounds like a lot of work, I hate building lego shit, but still thought I'd share.

Bloody Bowels
Which is I believe the most used synonym for BB on the AT website!
I have not poured over all the possible rules yet, but from what I can tell, it is a 100% completely faithful version of the turn based game. The beta is only multiplayer, so I have only played 2 games of it so far. Initial thoughts:
1) TOTALLY AWESOME league tracker tool with league options and SUPER AWESOME stat tracking! Not only do you track the stats for your standard star player points, but you track yards gained from passing, rushing, times ko'd, failed armor saves, etc. That alone makes this a must buy for sports nerds (I'm looking at you Ryan and my bathroom mirror).
2) nice graphics, and a perfect aesthetic throughout the game.
3) I don't ever see the use for different camera angles. Who would ever thing to play BB isometrically? It just doesn't make sense when so much of the game is calculating exact moves, spaces, distances, tackle zones, etc. I moved my camera to be probably 80 - 90 directly overhead, with a little angle behind my players for that nice 3D-looking across the board view. This will not change my decision to buy the DS version, but the bummer about the DS is it is ONLY isometric, no camera changes, whereas the PSP/PC/360 can all change the view.
4) I am buying at least two versions of the game, one static and one mobile. Which combination remains to be seen. DS is the DS so it is awesome, PSP has camera angle changes, PC will be faster to navigate with the point and click and possible downloadable patches/add-ons, the 360 will be awesome for integrated chat and the method of controller choice if the real-time version is any good.
I could ramble on, but most of what I say will not be interesting, so I will stop here and hope that I am not kicked out of the beta because of the AT intellegence leak....

Champiions Onlin is kinda bad (notice the misspelling incase my breaking NDA reigns down terror on our site! Now if they search it won't come up.) It's another super hero MMO using the Champions HERO system rules, lol. Cool. I THINK this was the one that was supposed to be MArvel Universe Online and then Marvel yanked the license, or maybe not. It's sorta City of Heroes-ish but much closer to WoW. But it's just another MMORPG at the end of the day and that's kind of a drag.
How's that Blood Bowl? I'm hearing good things from the thread over on SA. It sounds like the interface needs some work but it's pretty legit and if you don't know the rules (this is a more recent version of the rules compared to FUMBBL apparently) you're gonna be F-ed. But it sounds like regular 'ol BB so I'm excited. Say it ain't horrible Elruck!

Played a bunch of this new DS game called The Dark Spire. It's very fun. It's sort of a Wizardy-clone/throwback. You can switch between "modern" graphics/music or "classic" which is rad wire-frame and 8-bit tunes. It's super hard and there's no info, you have to trial and error to figure out gear, but it's also really charming and pretty fun. Check it out if you like hard-ass old school rpgs.

BB Beta
For what it's worth, I'm in the BB Beta! I have d/led and installed the game at work, which may have been a mistake as I am not sure I can install it again at home, and I am also bound by the NDA to not talk about it, but hopefully some other AT member got in and we can play and talk about it offline!

Space Bulk
eLzar, I miss playing Space Bulk. I have played that map twice before and had my ass handed to me on a platter. I know once was at the hands of Sir Johnny Khan Late. We should definitely throw down a few games at Boobla Cunvhenshun Thyme.
jr0n and I had a chance to play test the new WarMachine rules last night with a few of the non-actionteam gamers. I have to say that, although our experience was limited in scope, the rules seem to be a welcome overhaul of the system and really brings the "machine" back into WarMachine. The balance seems to be thrown back towards the jacks and away from troop based faction lists. More on this when we have time to expand our play testing.
Taxes do not rule. Uncle Sam delivered unto me a knuckle sammich to my cranial cavity on Monday. I am free for another 364 days...

Space Hulk
Sheesh.
Playing a little Space Hulk a la Teardown, and I am playing probably the hardest mission ever (Mission 3 from the basic set) and I thought I was doing pretty good this time. I had control of the randomly placed CAT, I had some nice *somewhat* tight overwatch perimeter firelanes, and though I actually had a chance!
Well, in ONE TURN, I lost 5 marines!!! I lost every marine that was covering the Genestealer entry points, as well as the marine holding the stupid CAT robot. Each dead marine had 4 shots at their advancing geanstealer, and not one of them jammed, but they missed every shot. It was SOOOOO disheartening! I don't think I will EVER beat this freaking mission!
(FYI the squads start split 5/5. 5 on the right of the map, and 5 at the bottom left. The marines on the right are then split 2/3 and need to recover the CAT from an unknown location on the board, and exit out the lower left.)
